Sanparks is offering free entry to South Africa’s 22
national parks during National Parks Week from 14 to 20 September 2009. The
campaign launched at Kruger Park’s
Mopani camp aims to develop conservation awareness amongst the local community.

Sanparks Chief Executive David Mabunda highlights the aim of the National Parks
Week campaign to encourage South Africans, particularly families, to visit their
local national parks. The offer is open to visitors on South Africa safari
holidays who have a valid South African identity document and to all children
visiting national parks.
A schedule of planned activities aiming to promote nature conservation and build
environmental awareness amongst local communities includes: exhibitions;
tree-planting; clean-up and conservation drives; interaction with schools,
pensioners and other community groups; and walks and talks with game rangers.
South Africa safari holidays are popular with both international and domestic
travellers with the Kruger Park being one of the most visited destinations in
the Southern Africa region.
