River Cruise
Day 1
You will be met at Victoria Falls Airport and transferred to your hotel near the mighty Zambezi River.

Check in, settle in and relax whilst you catch your first glimpses of the magnificent Smoke That Thunders first discovered by Dr. David Livingstone and still one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. The flow of water over the Victoria Falls is greatest from February to June following the summer rains, but they are a magnificent sight at any time of year.
Day 2
Today we recommend exploring the mighty Victoria Falls and its rainforest on foot, with magnificent views (we suggest you take your own raincoat, as those on hire are often well used).

Afterwards participate in one of many local optional activities such as a helicopter flight over the falls or an elephant-back safari, or simply relax and enjoy the facilities of your hotel.

In the late afternoon we recommend an optional Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River to see hippos, crocodiles and the abundant bird life.
Day 3
At leisure to explore the small town of Victoria Falls or relax on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River.

Adrenalin seekers can participate in many adventure activities such as canoeing in the gentler rapids above the falls, abseiling or white water rafting in the turbulent gorge below the falls (grade 5), or watch bungi jumping from Victoria Falls Bridge!
Day 4
Today transfer 4-hours from Victoria Falls to your safari lodge in Hwange National Park, the largest game park in Zimbabwe.

Check in, settle in and relax in this remote wildlife area before enjoying a thrilling safari drive in an open top game viewing vehicle accompanied by a lodge ranger. With over 100 different species of mammals, including huge herds of elephants and many predators, a marvellous wildlife experience is guaranteed. The bird life is also outstanding.
Day 5
Today is devoted to game viewing in Hwange National Park, which is the size of Belgium.

Rise early to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day, as you enjoy a thrilling open top game drive in Hwange National Park with your ranger. Covering a vast area of over 5,600 square miles (14,600 square kilometres) and in close proximity to the arid Kalahari desert, this remote wildlife sanctuary is renowned for its enormous population of elephants, as well as vast herds of buffalo, zebra and giraffe. It is home to many predators including lions, hyena and endangered wild dogs which are thriving in the region.

The rest of the morning is free to relax by the lodge swimming pool, before setting out again in the late afternoon for another game drive. Enjoy another spectacular African sunset and relax around an open fire, before dining under the stars.
Day 6
This morning we leave Hwange National Park and transfer 5-hours to the Botswana border at Kasane. After completing immigration formalities, continue across the river to your luxury house boat, moored near the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers in Namibia.

Settle-in and relax on your house boat, which has an entertainment deck, lounge, kitchen, bar and dining area. Then enjoy sundowners on the Chobe River which attracts abundant wildlife from Chobe National Park situated across the river.

Note: You must arrive at Chobe before 13.00, when you will be transferred to your houseboat.
Day 7
Enjoy the very special experience of cruising down the perennial Chobe River and the mighty Zambezi River on a houseboat, whilst viewing the abundant game of the Chobe National Park and overlooking the fertile flood plains of both Botswana and Namibia.

A house boat holiday is ideal for bird watching (over 400 species) and game viewing in the most relaxed way possible, as Chobe is home to vast herds of buffalo and elephant, as well as numerous other species that roam in profusion and diversity. During the dry season, vast elephant herds migrate from both south and north to congregate in their thousands along the Chobe River – the largest concentration of elephants in the whole of Africa.

This holiday is also favoured by fishermen as the Chobe River is home to ferocious Tiger Fish – legendary fighters with extraordinarily large tails and specialised bone structure, which allows them to accelerate like a rocket and hit your bait like no other fish their size. Their teeth are formidable and they prey on other fish up to 40% of their own weight. They grow up to 16 lbs but even at 4 lbs they fight like champions. Tiger fish are more active in the warmer months (September to February) when the rivers are low and clear, but there is also a short window in June when tigers feed well. Barbel (catfish) and Wild Bream (yellow bellied, thin face and hump back) are also plentiful, fishing with either conventional tackle or on fly. Fishermen will have free access to all necessary tackle, several smaller motorboats and a fishing guide.

Each evening relax with sundowners on the deck and watch the spectacular sunset over the Zambesi River surrounded by hippos, crocodiles and abundant bird life!
Day 8
Transfer across the Chobe River to the Botswana border and, after completing immigration formalities, continue 15-minutes to your game lodge overlooking the Chobe River.

Chobe National Park is Botswana’s premier wildlife reserve and is uniquely situated at the confluence of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers, where four African countries meet – Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

After checking in to your lodge, enjoy your first thrilling safari drive in an open-top game viewing vehicle accompanied by a ranger. Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately in this vast game sanctuary and hopefully you will see elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, antelope and other river-based wildlife today. Later dine overlooking the river in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide!
Days 9 To 10
Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day and enjoy a thrilling open-top game viewing drive  into the great Chobe National Park. This region is home to some of Botswana’s most spectacular wildlife, as well as abundant bird life.

Chobe is home to vast herds of buffalo and elephant, as well as numerous other species which roam in profusion and diversity. During the dry season, vast elephant herds migrate from both south and north to congregate in their thousands along the Chobe River – the largest concentration of elephants in the whole of Africa! Also hope to see lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting animals before returning to your lodge.

The rest of the morning is free to relax by the lodge swimming pool before enjoying an optional game viewing boat ride on the Chobe River to give you a completely different wildlife perspective. Tiger fishing can also be arranged on the river.

After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.

Please note: some lodges provide full day game viewing, combining boat rides with land-based game drives.
