Day 1
You will be met at Durban Airport and transferred to your hotel on the warm North Coast, renowned for its wonderful beaches and excellent holiday weather.

Check in and relax on the shores of the warm Indian Ocean.
Day 2
This morning enjoy the beauty of rural Zululand, renowned for its outstanding beaches, mountains, history and wildlife as you transfer 3-hours to Hluhluwe Game Reserve.

After checking into your lodge, enjoy a thrilling open top game drive with a lodge ranger. Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately and hopefully you will see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe - as well as several of the Big Five - before returning to your lodge for dinner.
Day 3
Today is devoted to game viewing in Hluhluwe National Park.

Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day, and enjoy a thrilling open-top game drive in the famous Hluhluwe National Park, which saved the rhino from extinction. One of South Africa’s most beautiful game parks, Hluhluwe is home to all the Big 5 - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino - as well as the subcontinent’s largest population of endangered rhino. Hope to see many interesting species before returning to your lodge.

The rest of the day is free to relax at your lodge or enjoy bird watching, before setting out again in the late afternoon for another game drive. Hope to see giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting animals. With over 300 different bird species, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed.

After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.

Note: children < 6 are not allowed on open top game drives

Day 4
After some final early morning game viewing, transfer 2-hours to Sodwana Bay Marine National Park, recognised for its importance in marine conservation as a World Heritage site.

Sodwana Bay is South Africa’s premier deep sea fishing location, with easy access to the warm Mozambique Reef. Check in to your fishing lodge, comprising simple but comfortable log cabins situated in an indigenous coastal forest near the beach, where monkeys and antelope roam free.

On arrival check in at the Deep Sea Fishing shop to confirm your fishing times and sort out your equipment hire. Please note that you will need to buy a fishing licence locally (approx £5).
Days 5 To 6
Rise early this morning for a half day of Deep Sea Game Fishing off the warm Mozambique Reef, the southern-most coral reef in the world. Start with an exciting beach launch (06.00 from Nov-Apr / 07.00 from May-Oct) on your 7-metre boat, which is fully equipped for marlin and game fishing and registered for up to 5 anglers and your skipper.

The diversity of fish & invertebrates found on the Mozambique Reef makes Sodwana Bay one of South Africa's prime angling destinations - with black marlin, blue marlin, stripe marlin and sailfish regularly caught here. Many other combative game fish such as barracuda and kingfish also frequent these warm waters. Dolphins are regularly seen, as well as migrating humpback whales from April to July.

All tackle and bait will be provided by your skipper, who will make recommendations based on local conditions. After a thrilling 7 to 8 hours at sea, relax by the swimming pool or walk along the beach surrounded by the highest naturally vegetated sand dunes in the world.

Marlin – best from November to May
Dorado – best from November to March
Sailfish, king mackerel, yellowfin tuna and other game species – all year round
Day 7
This morning transfer 3-hours to Lake Jozini in remote and beautiful northern Zululand.

Check in and relax on the shores of this great lake fed by the Pongola River and surrounded by wildlife, against a backdrop of the Lebombo Mountains.
Days 8 To 9
Depart early with a packed breakfast to enjoy 4 to 5-hours of thrilling Tiger Fishing today in the warm sub-tropical waters of Lake Jozini, with skipper who will share his know-how and show you the best fishing spots.

The ferocious tiger fish is a legendary fighter, with an extraordinarily large tail and specialised bone structure that allows it to accelerate with speed and hit your bait like no other fish its size. Their teeth are formidable and they prey on other fish up to 40% their own weight. They grow up to 16 lbs but even at 4 lbs they fight like champions. Tiger fish are more active in the warmer months (September to March).

Afterwards relax at your lodge overlooking the lake, where you may see hippos, crocodiles and other wildlife whilst enjoying sundowners on the deck. You can also enjoy optional game drives, birding and rhino tracking during your stay, or a second optional afternoon fishing departure (pay for this locally).
