At the northern tip of Argentina, on the border with Brazil, the mighty Iguazu Falls are found. There are 275 separate waterfalls stretching several miles and up to 82 metres high. They are among the biggest falls in the world. They can be viewed from both countries, although you will need to keep your passport dry when you cross the border!
The falls are located in the 35 square mile Iguazu Falls National Park, which is a continuation of the Southern Brazilian rainforest. There are over 2000 plant species, including fifty-foot high canes and gigantic trees. You can take a helicopter trip and get a wonderful panoramic view or a closer look on a boat trip right up to the falls – but be prepared to get wet.
Iberá lies in the very northeast of Argentina and comprises the second largest wetlands in the world. Iberá means ‘bright waters’ and the area covers over 770,000 square miles of unspoiled lagoons, lakes and marshland, which are home to a huge variety of wildlife.
