When to go to Mexico

The best time to visit Mexico is from December to May, as this is the dry season. The rainy season runs from June to November (the hot summer), when tropical thunderstorms occur. The Caribbean coast can be affected by hurricanes during this period.
 
You can swim with whale sharks off the Yucatan Peninsula from June to September.
 
Whale watching in Baja California is best from mid-January to mid-March. You can swin with whale sharks here from October to February.
 
Birding is best from November to March, when the migrants visit. This is also when the butterfly migration occurs.
 
The most famous festival in Mexico is the Day of the Dead, which is celebrated over Halloween (31 October to 2 November), with particularly splendid street displays in Oaxaca and Merida.
