Denis Island is a luxury barefoot retreat situated on a magnificent coral island about 60 miles (100 km) northeast of Mahe Island and reached by light aircraft. The spacious en-suite cottages and villas are all located very close to the beach. With its soft white sands and amazing turquoise waters, you can snorkel off the beach and explore the wildlife on the island, including its giant tortoises. Other facilities include a spa and a library stocked with board games and books. As there is no mobile phone coverage on the island, this is the only place that has TV and WiFi. There is also a dive centre, deep sea fishing and canoeing. Fresh Creole cuisine is prepared daily and in the evenings you can enjoy barbecues on the beach, sushi prepared from the day’s catch or delicious five course dinners in the restaurant.
