Combining two sides of the 'Lake of Star's, our luxury fly-in Lake Malawi holidays stay at Kaya Maya lodge on beautiful Likoma Island and spectacular Nkwichi Lodge in Mozambique. You can sleep out under the stars, swim in crystal clear waters, snorkel & dive among freshwater aquarium fish & sail on an Arab dhow - ideal for romance or a luxury honeymoon. Light aircraft flights & all transfers included.

Day 1
You will be met at Lilongwe Airport and transferred to your hotel in the capital city of Malawi.
 
Check in and relax in this friendly warm heart of Africa.
Day 2
Transfer to Lilongwe Airport for your light aircraft flight to Likoma Island on beautiful Lake Malawi.
 
You will be met at the island airstrip and transferred by boat to the Mozambiquan side, where the lake's name changes to Lake Niassa. Check into your lodge and relax, overlooking this magnificent fresh water lake in the heart of the Great Rift Valley.
 
Note: A departure tax of $35 pp is payable when flying out of Lilongwe.
Days 3 To 5
At leisure to relax on the Mozambique shores of beautiful Lake Niassa, surrounded by hundreds of miles of woodlands.
 
Offering exquisite lakeside scenery & unparallelled tranquility, activities at your lodge centre around the secluded beach and the lake. Enjoy snorkelling in its crystal clear waters, canoeing and paddle boarding by day and sit around a camp fire at night. With no light pollution, star gazing is outstanding.
 
You can also experience an amazing sleep-out experience under the stars.
Day 6
This morning transfer by boat to Likoma Island on beautiful Lake Malawi.
 
Check into your lodge overlooking this vast inland sea.
Days 7 To 9
At leisure to relax on beautiful Likoma Island on magnificent Lake Malawi, an enormous inland sea with a surface area of over 11,000 square miles (30,000 sq.km)
 
Originally named Lake Nyasa when discovered by David Livingstone (who also nicknamed it the "Lake of Stars" due to the many lanterns of fisherman at night), this is the third largest lake in Africa and the southernmost lake in the Great Rift Vally system, bordering both Mozambique to the east and Tanzania to the north.
 
Enjoy lazy days snorkelling amongst aquarium fish, canoeing or sailing in its crystal clear waters, which hold more different species of fish than any other body of water on earth. Bird watching is also outstanding.
Day 10
Transfer to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Lilongwe.
 
You will be met at Lilongwe Airport and transferred to your hotel in this friendly capital city in the warm heart of Africa.
 
Note: Scheduled flights operate to Lilongwe on a Wednesday, Friday & Sunday only. As you will be flying in a light aircraft you must pack soft sports bags only, as rigid suitcases will not fit into the luggage pods. A baggage allowance of 15 kg (which includes your hand luggage) is strictly enforced for safety reasons.
Day 11
Transfer to Lilongwe Airport for your flight home.
