When to go to Argentina

The best time to visit Argentina depends on which part of this enormous country you wish to visit, as it has many different regional weather patterns.
 
The best time to visit Buenos Aires, the Lake District and Mendoza winelands is November to March (the warm summer), but April/May (autumn) and September/October (spring) are also very pleasant. June to August is the cold winter.
 
The Iguazu Falls have their highest water flow between March and May following the summer rains, but they are a spectacular sight at any time of year.
 
The best time to visit Patagonia is from November to March but, being so far south, the weather can be very changeable. Most facilities close from April to August, when heavy clouds obscure the mountains and temperatures drop sharply.
 
The whale watching season on the Valdes Peninsula is from June to November.
