Argentina Holidays - Holidays to Argentina - don't miss a tango show

Argentina Holidays

Argentina is a big country in every sense. There are not many countries in the world with snow-capped peaks, deserts, glaciers and rainforests. Add to this the tango tradition, the gaucho cowboy culture, the best steaks in the world and Welsh tea cakes to die for, and you have a truly unique destination.

The capital of Buenos Aires is where most people start their holidays to Argentina. Modelled on Paris, this sophisticated city offers a wonderful mix of European and Latin American influences, from colourful La Boca and quaint San Telmo, to more modern Puerto Madryn.

The Iguazu Falls in the north east are astonishing and the icy blue glaciers, lakes and mountains of Patagonia will take your breath away. This still leaves the winelands of Mendoza and the desert landscapes of Salta to explore. It is also a great place to enjoy a horse riding holiday or watch a game of polo, football or rugby.

ALL OUR ARGENTINA HOLIDAYS ARE FINANCIALLY PROTECTED wherever in the world you live. Selling holidays for over 15 years.

The capital Buenos Aires is the true heart of Argentina. Located on the River Plate estuary, it epitomises the history and versatility of this fascinating country. It is the main entry point for visitors and it is from here that most people begin their holiday to Argentina. It is wonderfully diverse, blending sophisticated city life, truly amazing food and breathtaking scenery, with gaucho-led folk culture and the dazzling tango tradition.  The cafe and market culture holds sway here. In this sophisticated and well organised modern city, everything is on offer from the finest steaks in the world to Eva Peron’s famous Pink House, the Casa Rosada.

From the capital, you can take a day trip to a gaucho ranch and experience the unique skills, dress and traditions of these famous horsemen or a boat excursion on to the Tigre Delta. Any trip to Buenos Aires must include a Tango Show. You don’t have to join in, but the elegance and symbolism of this traditional national dance will leave you breathless.

Outside Buenos Aires, the magnificent Andes Mountains, the endless pampas, lakes and deserts, wetlands and subtropical rainforests, as well as Patagonia’s spectacular glaciers, offer visitors a glittering array of contrasting landscapes.

At the very northeast tip of the country are the Iguazu Falls, one of the seven modern wonders of the world and shared with Brazil. These magnificent falls are twice the size of Niagara and constitute one of the great must-see sights on the planet. A visit here is a popular addition to many holidays to Argentina.

Patagonia in the south is a must-see on all Argentina holidays. This famous area of mountains and ice includes El Calafate, the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park and Tierra del Fuego, the island at the bottom of the world shared with Chile. The regional capital of Ushuaia is the southern-most city in the world. The majestic Andes dominate the landscape here and you can take a cruise around the many islands, through Glacier Alley and around Cape Horn. The crossings from the cruise ship to the shore locations are by pangas (rigid-hulled inflatable boats). Once onshore, you can walk the glaciers amid breathtaking scenery, but remember to wrap up warmly and take waterproof clothing.

The region around Puerto Madryn is where you will find a large Welsh communitity, with their language and traditions intact. This is also the best place to see penguins and whales.

To the northwest of Argentina, around the old colonial town of Salta, you will find beautiful desert terrain with stunning geological features like the Humahuaca Gorge and fantastically coloured rock formations. The ancient Andean culture is strong here and you can visit the several historical museums here.

Located in the in the west of the country, Mendoza is Argentina’s wine capital. Argentina is famous for making superb wines from the Malbec grape but many other world-class varieties are also produced in the region. You can tour the vineyards, see how it is done and sample the results.

In the southwest of the country the Lake District beckons. The scenic Alpine city of Bariloche is an ideal base from which to explore the stunningly beautiful Nahuel Huapui Lake and national park. Here you'll see pristine lakes and green verdant landscapes all with an Andean backdrop. You can easily add an excursion into Chile’s Lake District to your holiday in Argentina. For skiers, the Cerro Catedral resort among others make unique alternatives to the French Alps and the American Rockies.

As you can see, there is enough to do here for a number of holidays to Argentina and the challenge will be choosing where to go first. Wherever you decide, there will be delightful surprises at every turn.
