We the continue to the vast Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, the Savuti Plains famous for its elephants, and Chobe National Park with its river based wildlife, ending at the spectacular Victoria Falls.

Day 1
You will be met at Maun Airport and transferred to your lodge near this small town, which is the gateway to the famous Okavango Delta.

Check into your lodge where you can relax and enjoy the birdlife of the region.
Day 2
Today leave Maun on your exciting small group tour of Botswana.

We start by driving 4-hours to Deception Valley Private Reserve on the northern border of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. This fossil river bed is known for its stunning sunsets, diverse wildlife and the illusion of water that gave it its name.

Settle in to your Central Kalahari camp and relax under the starlit sky.

Note: On group tours, for operational reasons lodges are sometimes substituted for others of a similar standard.
Day 3
Today is devoted to game viewing in the Central Kalahari.

Game drives will allow you to discover the stunning wildlife of this area, which is home to a fascinating variety of desert specialities such as oryx, as well as predators such as lion, hyena and cheetah.

Also participate in a Nature Walk led by a local San Bushman tracker, who will share his intricate bush knowledge and give you an insight into their unique and intriguing culture.

Savour the vast open spaces, clear night skies and uninterrupted beauty as you explore the vast Kalahari.
Day 4
After rising early for a short game drive in the Central Kalahari, we drive 5-hours northeast towards Makgadikgadi National Park.

The Makgadikgadi Salt Pans are among the largest salt flats in the world. During the dry season (May-October), the pans appear as vast, shimmering plains of salt, creating a surreal, white horizon. In the wet season (November to April), the pans transform into shallow lakes, attracting a wealth of wildlife, including migratory birds like flamingos and large herds of zebras and wildebeest.

After arriving in time for lunch, there will be a few hours to rest before a late afternoon game drive along the Boteti River. This river is a lifeline for the animals of the region, particularly in the dry season when it becomes one of the few reliable water sources for large herds of zebras, wildebeests, and elephants. The riverbanks are often lined with predators such as lions and hyenas, drawn by the high concentration of prey.
Day 5
This morning we head westwards and travel 2-hours to Maun, where we stop for lunch at a local restaurant (own account).

Afterwards we continue 4-hours to Khwai River on the border of Moremi Game Reserve, on the eastern side of the famous Okavango Delta.

Diverse ecosystems converge at Khwai River, which is rich with wildlife - offering excellent game viewing and a vibrant array of birdlife. Game drives will explore the region surrounding the Khwai River and you will also have the opportunity to enjoy a mokoro (dug-out canoe) excursion on a tributary of the river.

Note: There is the option today of a 45-minute helicopter transfer across the delta to Khwai (additional cost payable locally).
Days 6 To 7
Rise at dawn to enjoy shared game viewing along the Khwai River on the border of Moremi Game Reserve, including seeing some of the larger species that inhabit this region such as elephants, buffalo, lion, zebra, wildebeest, red lechwe, wild dogs, cheetah, leopard and hippo - as well as a wide variety of bird life.

Moremi Game Reserve abuts the seasonal Okavango Delta which is flooded annually by the great Okavango River that flows inland from Angola into the vast Kalahari Desert – never finding the sea but instead forming a great inland delta, whose waters are absorbed by the dry Kalahari Desert, making it one of the great natural wonders of the world and an amazing water wilderness and wetlands ecosystem.

Comprising 6,000 square miles of crystal clear channels, serene lagoons and a myriad of islands, the Okavango Delta is a natural oasis in the middle of the Kalahari for a vast variety of wildlife and birds of all descriptions.

In the afternoon enjoy another game activity, before dining under balmy African skies.
Day 8
A full day on the road today as we head northwards, travelling for 10-hours towards the flood plains of the Chobe River.

Enjoy a full day of game viewing as we drive through the Savuti region, with a picnic lunch along the way.

Chobe National Park is Botswana’s premier wildlife reserve and is uniquely situated at the confluence of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers, where four African countries meet – Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The Chobe River is the life-giving force of this region with extensive grassy floodplains on either side, which disappear under the annual floodwaters, making boats the best way of getting around.

In the late afternoon we arrive at our Chobe lodge. Chobe National Park is home to some of Botswana’s most spectacular wildlife, as well as abundant bird life. In the evening dine in the atmosphere that only the African bushveld can provide.
Day 9
Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day and enjoy a thrilling open-top game drive in Chobe National Park.

Chobe is home to vast herds of buffalo and elephant, as well as numerous other species which roam in profusion and diversity. During the dry season, vast elephant herds migrate from both south and north to congregate in their thousands along the Chobe River – the largest concentration of elephants in the whole of Africa. This migration of wildlife is possibly due to the creation of protected wildlife corridors, which allow the elephants to travel between the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Park (KAZA) countries safely. Also hope to see lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodiles, antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting animals.

Bird life along the river is also plentiful and you can hope to see a Fish eagle, Tawny eagle, African openbill stork, Marabou stork, Sacred ibis, Pied kingfisher, Cattle egret, Great egret, Spur-winged goose and much more, including  the glorious Lilac-breasted roller.

In the afternoon enjoy an included game viewing boat ride on the Chobe River to give a completely different wildlife perspective.
Day 10
Today we transfer 1-hour to Kasane on the Zimbabwe border. After completing border formalities, we continue 2-hours to Victoria Falls on the mighty Zambezi River.

Located in the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA), where the borders of five African countries converge, the sheer scale of this vast international conservation project is difficult to comprehend. It encompasses a bewildering range of experiences, ranging from the mighty Victoria Falls to the lifeforce of the region, the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers.

Check in to your hotel and relax whilst you catch your first glimpses of the magnificent Smoke That Thunders, first discovered by Dr. David Livingstone and still one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. The flow of water over the Victoria Falls is greatest from February to June following the summer rains, but they are a magnificent sight at any time of year. Lunch and dinner are for your own account today.
Day 11
Today we recommend exploring on foot the mighty Victoria Falls and its rainforest (pay entrance fee locally).

Afterwards you may wish to visit Elephants Walk, a small crafts complex where you can see talented local artists and sculptors at work and support them by buying one of their items. Alternatively you can participate in an optional helicopter flight over the falls (pay locally).

Many other optional activities are available in this small town, where adrenalin seekers come to participate in adventure activities such as canoeing down the Zambezi River, white water rafting in the turbulent gorge below the falls (grade 5), abseiling and bungee jumping from Victoria Falls Bridge.

You can also enjoy optional game drives in Zambezi National Park, or a traditional 'boma' dinner with African drumming. Lunch and dinner are for your own account today.
Day 12
Transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for your flight home.
