Maldives Information ▷
When to go to Maldives
Maldives can be visited all year round, as it has a warm tropical climate with temperatures of 25-30°C, even at night. There is an average of 8 hours sunshine every day and water temperature rarely drops below 25 degrees.
The
best time to visit Maldives
is from December to April, as this is the dry season when the waters are at their calmest, so the best time for swimming, snorkelling & diving, although prices are highest at this time.
May to September is the rainy season, when prices are significantly lower (apart from school holidays), but you can still enjoy the Maldives then. Days can be cloudy with tropical storms, but these usually pass very quickly and the sun comes out afterwards. Snorkelling and diving visibility are slightly reduced due to plankton in the water, but this brings in the manta rays.
You can see whale sharks in the South Ari Atoll all year round. The best time to see manta rays in the Baa Atoll is from June to October.
