Grootbos is situated in a private nature reserve between Stanford and Gansbaai, about 30-minutes outside Hermanus. Forest Lodge is furnished with rich textures and situated in a forest, whilst Garden Lodge is constructed from stone, thatch and timber and situated in an indigenous fynbos garden. Both lodges have luxury suites, each with a canopy bed with fine linen and down quilt, spacious en-suite bathroom, separate lounge with fireplace, mini bar, tea/coffee facilities and wooden deck with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. Lodge activities, subject to change, range from horse-riding, botanical Fynbos hike, Milkwood forest walks, 4wd flower safari, coastal drive with seasonal land-based whale watching (July - December), beach picnics, ancient Klipgat Cave and Walker Bay Nature Reserve beach excursion all led by lodge guides.
