Day 1
You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel in this beautiful city, within sight of Table Mountain.

Check in and relax in your magnificent surroundings.
Day 2
Today is free for independent sightseeing in Cape Town.

To orientate yourself, use your pre-paid pass for the Red Route Hop-Off Bus, which stops at all Cape Town’s key sights and attractions, including the Table Mountain (a Fast Track cable car ticket is also included). Here you can ascend and enjoy one of the world's most famous views.

Continue to trendy Camps Bay beach and the many attractions of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Note: Don't let the colour of the bus confuse you. All buses are red, but they run two different routes - the Red City Route and the Blue Kirstenbosch Route.

Table Mountain cable car is closed for annual maintenance from mid July to end August.
Day 3
Today we recommend an optional full day shared tour to the beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where you may see baboons, ostrich and perhaps even dolphins or whales in season (July/November).

Your tour travels through Hout Bay and along spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to the Cape Point peninsula, before returning via Simons Town and Fish Hoek. This is a scenic tour of the whole Cape Peninsula, with the optional opportunity of visiting the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Note: Lunch is for your own account today. Group size is minimum 2 / maximum 15.
Day 4
In season, today we recommend a full day Whale Watching small group tour to the seaside town of Hermanus, a scenic 2-hour drive over Sir Lowry's Pass with spectacular views of False Bay.

From July to November, southern right and humpback whales come here to breed and this is considered the best location for land-based Whale Watching in the world. Once severely endangered, these magnificent creatures of the deep are now breeding successfully here due to a major international conservation effort. Weather permitting, take an optional boat ride to get closer views (pre-booking recommended, as boats have limited capacity).

Enjoy whale watching from the cliffs before returning to Cape Town, travelling through the apple orchids of Elgin and Sir Lowry's Pass.

Note: If you take the optional whale watching boat ride, wear a jacket as it can get cold on the boat and take a sun hat, sun glasses, binoculars, sunscreen, camera & small towel. Take your own snacks & drinks. You will be on the water for several hours in seas that can be rough, so if you are not a good sailor remember to take preventative travel sickness tablets well in advance.
Day 5
Today we recommend an optional full day shared tour to the renowned Stellenbosch Winelands, travelling through the scenic Franschhoek Valley where a handful of French Huguenot refugees started South Africa’s now famous wine industry.

Explore the historic university town of Stellenbosch and several wine estates on this famous wine route, which stretched from Paarl through to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy a cellar tour and some wine tasting, before returning to Cape Town in the late afternoon.

Note: Lunch is for your own account today. Group size is minimum 2 / maximum 15.
Day 6
Transfer to Cape Town Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Durban Airport and transferred to your hotel on the warm North Coast, renowned for its wonderful beaches and warm holiday weather.

Check in and relax on the shores of the warm Indian Ocean.
Day 7
This morning enjoy the beauty of rural Zululand, renowned for its outstanding beaches, mountains and wildlife as you transfer 3-hours to Hluhluwe National Park.

After checking into your lodge, in the afternoon enjoy a thrilling open top game drive with a lodge ranger. Game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately and hopefully you will see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe - as well as several of the Big Five before dinner.
Day 8
Today enjoy game viewing by shared open-top vehicle in Hluhluwe National Park.

One of South Africa’s most beautiful game parks, Hluhluwe is home to all the Big 5 - lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino - as well as the subcontinent’s largest population of endangered rhino, which this park saved from extinction. Hope to see many other interesting species too including giraffe, hippo, kudu, crocodile, waterbuck, warthog and baboon. With over 300 different bird species, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed.

After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the southern hemisphere.

Note: children < 6 are not allowed on open top game drives.
Day 9
After an early morning game drive, leave Hluhluwe and transfer 3-hours to the Thonga Beach lodge pick-up point at Librodi Lodge in Sodwana Bay.

Then transfer 1-hour through the coastal reserve on an open-top 4x4 vehicle, to remote and unspoilt Thonga Beach in the heart of the protected iSimangaliso St Lucia Wetlands.

Check into your beach lodge concealed in a canopy of indigenous coastal forest on the shores of the warm Indian Ocean and relax in your wonderful subtropical surroundings, where monkeys and antelope roam free.
Days 10 To 12
Thonga Beach is a remote and unspoilt beach destination, with miles of untouched warm Indian Ocean beaches inhabited only by the loggerhead and leatherback turtles, which return to lay their eggs on the beaches from November to January each year.

With its wonderfully warm climate and outstanding snorkelling, spend lazy days by the swimming pool or on the beach surrounded by the highest naturally vegetated sand dunes in the world. Enjoy long walks on the beach, pamper yourself at the spa or enjoy a sundowner drives to Lake Sibaya where you may see hippos and crocodiles as well as abundant bird life.

Scuba Divers can explore the underwater treasures of the warm Mozambique Reef, the southern-most coral reef in the world, with canyons and caves teeming with a huge variety of marine life including over 1,200 species of fish, turtles, bottle-nosed dolphins, moray eels, ribbon tail rays, mantas, butterfly fish, angelfish, sharks, migrating whales (April to July) and whale sharks (January to February).

Other optional activities include an Ocean Safari to search for dolphins and Deep Sea Fishing.
Day 13
Transfer 1-hour through the coastal reserve on an open-top 4x4 vehicle to the pick-up point.

From here you will connect with your 3-hour transfer to Richards Bay Airport for your flight home.
