You do not need to drive, as you explore South Africa on this malaria free safari holiday that combines magnificent Tabel Mountain in Cape Town with a Big Five safari viewing lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhino, giraffe, zebra and many other interesting species. Complete your holiday relaxing on the stunning beaches of Plettenberg Bay. All transfers & game drives included.

Day 1
You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel in this beautiful city, within sight of Table Mountain.
 
Check in and relax in your magnificent surroundings.
Day 2
Today enjoy a private tour of the beautiful city of Cape Town.
 
Weather permitting, we start by ascending Table Mountain by cable car to see one of the world's most famous views (alternatively we will drive up Signal Hill). We then drive around the city to see the key sights including the City Hall, Greenmarket Square, Houses of Parliament, Bo Kaap, Castle of Good Hope, District Six and Sea Point. before enjoying a Harbour Cruise.
 
Afterwards explore the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, with its many shops and restaurants (return taxi for own account).
 
Note: Table Mountain cable car is closed for annual maintenance from mid July to end August.
Day 3
At leisure to explore more of the beautiful city of Cape Town.
 
You can visit the Mandela Legacy Exhibition at the City Hall, explore the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront or take the ferry to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned (advance booking essential in season).
 
From July to November you can take an optional whale watching trip to Hermanus.
 
Alternatively you can take the Hop Off bus (Blue Route) to visit world famous Kirstenbosch Gardens or simply relax on golden Camps Bay Beach.
Days 4 To 5
Today enjoy a full day private tour around the beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve peninsula.
 
We travel to Hout Bay, where there is the option to take a short boat trip to view Cape Fur seals at Seal Island (pay locally). We then continue along Chapman’s Peak Drive to spectacular Cape Point, where you may see baboons, ostriches and perhaps even dolphins or whales in season (July/November). The funicular up to the Old Lighthouse is included.
 
On the return journey we pass through naval Simons Town and visit the resident penguin colony at Boulders Beach.
 
Note: Lunch is for your own account today.
Day 6
Transfer to Cape Town Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Port Elizabeth Airport and transferred 2-hours to your malaria-free private game reserve near Addo in the beautiful Eastern Cape.
  
After checking in to safari lodge enjoy an afternoon game drive, where game viewing opportunities should present themselves almost immediately. Hopefully see several species of antelope, zebra, wildebeest and maybe even giraffe - as well as several of the Big Five - before dining in your warm African surroundings.
Days 7 To 8
Rise at dawn to take advantage of the best game viewing conditions of the day and enjoy a thrilling shared open-top game viewing safari with your lodge ranger in your Private Game Reserve which is home to all the Big Five - Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino. Hope to see many interesting species before returning to your lodge for breakfast.
   
The rest of the morning is free to relax by the lodge swimming pool, before setting out again in the late afternoon for another game drive. Hope to see giraffe, hippo, kudu, antelope, waterbuck, warthogs, baboons and many other interesting animals. With hundreds of different bird species, outstanding bird watching is also guaranteed!
  
After a beautiful African sunset, enjoy the balmy evening and pristine stars of the Milky Way as you have never seen them before – as well as the spectacular Southern Cross.
 
Note: If travelling with a child < 6 please request a family lodge that allows young children on open top game drives.
Day 9
Enjoy some final early morning game viewing, before your 3.5-hour transfer to Plettenberg Bay on the scenic Garden Route.
 
On the way you will travel past the Tsitsikamma Forest and across the dramatic Storms River Gorge.
 
Check into your hotel in Plettenberg Bay and relax on one of its six spectacular beaches.
Day 10
Today we recommend rising early and transferring to Central Beach in good time for a 2-hour Ocean Safari in search of bottlenose and rare humpback dolphins, as well as certain shark species - with a thrilling launch from the beach.
 
From July to November there is the added opportunity of seeing Bryde’s whales, Southern right whales, Humpback whales and the occasional Orca. Afterwards you will be transferred back to your hotel, with afternoon at leisure.
Days 11 To 12
Today is free to relax on one of the glorious beaches of Plettenberg Bay.
 
Optional wildlife activities in the nearby Crags region include a visit to an Elephant Sanctuary, Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary, Birds of Eden, Tenikwa Wild Cat Sanctuary, the Raptor Park or Lawnwood snake sanctuary. You can participate in an ocean safari to search for dolphins and whales in season (July to November) and walkers can enjoy a scenic coastal hike around the Robberg Peninsula. Other activities include sailing, deep sea fishing, horse riding, mountain biking and golf.
 
Alternatively you can drive 45-minutes to enjoy a scenic walk through the Tsitsikamma Forest with its ancient Outeniqua yellowwood trees, and take in the sensational coastal views from the adjacent Tsitsikamma Coastal Nature Reserve. At Storms River Mouth there is a scenic marine walk and snorkelling Trail.
 
If you are looking for adrenalin adventures, at Storms River Village you can find an exciting tree-top canopy tour with zipling, thrilling black water tubing, abseiling and bungy jumping from Bloukrans Bridge - the highest commercial bungy jump in the world.
 
Day 13
Transfer 3-hours from Plettenberg Bay to Port Elizabeth Airport for your flight home.
