Day 1
You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel in this beautiful city, within sight of Table Mountain.

Check in and relax in your magnificent surroundings.
Day 2
Weather permitting, today you will be collected from your hotel for a privately guided hike up Table Mountain, with spectacular views of the city below.

Our hike up Platteklip Gorge will take 2 to 2.5-hours, with lots of steps along the way. Marvel at the pristine beauty of this mountain, whilst enjoying on foot one of the world’s most famous views.

Afterwards there is a time to explore the top of the mountain, before returning by cable car and being dropped off at your hotel.

Note: A reasonable level of fitness is required for these mountain hikes. Wear good walking shoes, a light jacket suitable for changeable mountain conditions, water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses and sun hat.
Day 3
At leisure to relax and explore more of the beautiful city of Cape Town independently.

Many optional activities are available in this beautiful city. You can visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned (advance booking essential in season) and explore the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

You can also take the Hop Off bus (Blue Route) to visit world famous Kirstenbosch Gardens or simply relax on golden Camps Bay Beach.
Day 4
Today enjoy a full day exploring the beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.

We start by driving 1-hour along spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive to Cape Point where two oceans meet. Here we walk 2-hours up to the Cape Point lighthouse, followed by a 1-hour walk down to Cape Point. You may see baboons, ostrich and perhaps even dolphins or whales in season (July/November).

After a picnic lunch, on the return journey we stop at naval Simon's Town. Here we walk 1-hour to Boulders Beach, where there is a resident penguin colony, before returning to our hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 5
Today we travel 1-hour from Cape Town to the beautiful Stellenbosch Winelands.

Along the way we stop at the Cheetah Outreach project in Somerset West, a community-based programme seeking to raise awareness of the plight of the cheetah and campaign for its survival. Here you can view these magnificent endangered cats up close.

Afterwards we stop for a Wine Tasting along the famous Stellenbosch wine route. Check into your hotel in this famous wine producing area, relax under the giant oak trees and savour the fine food and wines of this region.
Day 6
Today we hike along the 4-hour Waterfall Trail at Jonkershoek in the Stellenbosch Winelands, with stunning views of mountains and vineyards (picnic lunch included).

We do not recommend the longer and much more strenuous Panorama Trail, as it contains a section on a loose rocky skree slope that is dangerous. Afterwards we can spend time exploring the historic university town of Stellenbosch.

In the evening enjoy an included group dinner.
Day 7
At leisure to relax in beautiful Stellenbosch, surrounded by its mountains and vineyards.

You can independently explore this old university town with its many street markets, craft shops and museums, including the Modern & Contemporary Art Gallery, or visit Stellenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Alternatively enjoy wine tasting using the Vine Hopper hop-off bus (advance booking online recommended).

Note: Vine Hopper bus does not operate on Sundays.
Day 8
Transfer 1-hour to Cape Town Airport for your onward flight.

You will be met at Port Elizabeth Airport and transferred 2-hours to the famous Shamwari Game Reserve in the beautiful Eastern Cape.

After an included lunch at Shamwari Game Lodge, where you will meet your walking guide, transfer in an open top game viewing vehicle to your Walking Camp. On arrival enjoy a short afternoon walk and sundowners, before dinner and an evening around the camp fire.

Note: Your small bush camp has canvas dome tents with stretchers and duvets. Ablutions are shared and consist of a flush chemical toilet and outdoor hot bucket shower.
Day 9
Today we rise early and spend up to 3-hours exploring Shamwari Game Reserve on foot, with magnificent game viewing opportunities. Accompanied by an armed ranger, you will be able to experience a unique perspective of the bushveld, and also learn more about the trees and smaller animals that live in this magnificent conservation area. We return to camp for a hearty brunch, followed by time relaxing and bird watching.

In the afternoon we set our again for another walking safari, with sundowner drinks enjoyed in the bush near camp. In the evening once again enjoy dinner under the stars.

Note: This 2-night walking safari operates on a Friday and Saturday night, with optional Sunday night stay over if requested. Guests over 60 years require a doctor's letter confirming they are sufficiently physically fit to take part in this walking safari. Children < 16 are not allowed.
Day 10
This morning there is the option of a final early morning walk in Shamwari Game Reserve, before transferring to Shamwari Game Lodge around 10 am.

Check into your private game reserve - which is home to all the Big Five - and enjoy an afternoon game drive, before dining in your warm African surroundings.
Day 11
Enjoy some final early morning game viewing, before your 2-hour transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport for your flight home.
