When to go to Peru

The best time to visit Peru is from May to October (the dry season) when the days are sunny and less misty, but with chilly nights. December to March is the rainy season, with the Inca Trail closed in February. The Amazon is hot, wet and humid all year round.
 
April to July is the best window to combine Peru with the Galapagos Islands, as the waters are at their calmest and clearest from January to June (the warmer, wetter months).
 
Inti Raymi -  the Festival of the Sun - is celebrated in the streets of Cusco in June.
 
Birding is best from June to October.
